Youth Group started up again Sept. 19th
So, we hear it's been a very active summer for everyone. Some of you spent your summers involved with, or going to camps, others have been on trips and some of you guys will have made the big jump to high school. We can't wait to see you all agin so we can get caught up on what you've been up to since June!
Friday, September 19th is the day we kick-off MBCYG 2014/15! Please remember to print out, complete and have your parent/guardian sign the permission form - it's mandatory for participation in youth group at MBC. Please bring it on the first night.
Parents are invited to stick around on the first night if they'd like to know what we plan for the year.
Program As in other years our door open at 7pm although the program actually starts at 7:30pm. We have some really fun stuff planned for the year including gym nights, activities at the chapel, outings to other churches, off-site events (like bowling) and Winter Weekend.
Keepin' Up Keep an eye on the calendar for the year to see what's going on, especially gym nights so you know when to bring shoes and stuff. The events page provides more detailed information of events; venue, any costs, etc.
Theme / t-shirts We plan to unveil our theme and t-shirts at the end of September. T-shirts will be available for $20.
July 5th Sailing Day Cancelled
We've cancelled the proposed July 5th sailing event. Hope everyone has a great summer, and whether you're going to be helping out at a camp, attending a camp(s), working a summer job, going someplace on vacation or just chillin', have fun and be safe!

This year the speaker, Steve Price, will be exploring and unpacking the theme, "A man after God's own heart." It's no doubt going to prove to be another great weekend in God's word.

September 28 - Mini-putting
This coming Friday we'll be going mini-putting at Timber Creek. This fun event includes pop, a bag of chips and an ice-cream cone. For details, see Events page.
Opening Night - Parents welcome to join us at 9pm
As Friday approaches so does the anticipation of another great year at MBCYG!
Can't tell you what they are (that would ruin the fun now wouldn't it), but we're planning a super exciting night of fun games and activities at the chapel.
Remember to invite your parent/guardians to join us at 9PM - we'd love to meet them! We realize that means sharing snack, but it only happens twice a year. ;)
Wonderland Day Trip Cancelled
Due to not getting the 15 people required for the Wonderland Day Trip tomorrow, August 20th, unfortunately we have had to cancel the event. There will be no official event at Wonderland.
See you all on September 14th for the first night of Youth Group!

Meet: At the Group Sales window at the main entrance. PARENTS, PLEASE NOTE: the parking gate will reimburse you the $15 parking fee if you exit within a few minutes (there is a time allowance for drop-off)
Pick up: 4pm at the Group Sales window at the main entrance
Cost $37 including taxes!! (reg price is $65 inc. taxes) What a bargain!!Other: Some of you have Season's Passes.. not a problem. Please let Catherine know that when you RSVP. Other: While at Wonderland, YGer's will be grouped in gaggles of 4 which will be arranged before going into the park - ensure at least one member of your group has a cell phone. Other: We will bring a cooler should you wish to store your lunch, as we are not allowed to bring outside food into the park.

Catherine will collect $37 and your form when you arrive to the park. Please remember spending money if you wish to purchase anything while at Wonderland.
June 8th -- trigger fingers ready
Meet: MBC between 7-7:30pm
Bring: Digital Camera
We will create teams and assign you to a vehicle and then send you on your way to participate in this year's DSH all over Markham.
You will have a series of brain-teasing clues to figure out and specific destinations to get to, taking photos with your team when you arrive and find what you're looking for!
Pick-up: regular time back at the chapel

Did the shopping for snacks and lock-in last night (R & C introduced me to COSTCO). I'm already hungry!

See you at the Easter Conference
As it's Easter weekend, there is no YG tonight but you're all encouraged to join us at the conference this evening. If you can make it during the day, that would be great as well.
Youth Group brings joy to Bethany residents
Last night our youth Group sung a beautiful selection of songs for the residents of Bethany. Serena did a great job on the piano.
With Easter right around the corner it was really nice to be able to take the wonderful story of Jesus' resurrection to Bethany in song and word. The reminder of the pivotal importance of that miraculous fact to our faith brought smiles to the faces of many in the audience.
It may seem like a small thing, but it should be a real encouragement to us that a group of teenagers can totally brighten the evening of the folks there and is appreciated more than we may ever know!
The fact the 29 of you came out says a lot for the quality of the kids in our Youth Group.
You also brightened the faces of the leaders last night! Perhaps we don't tell you enough but we really love you guys. You all did a fantastic job and made us extremely proud!
March 23rd - Q&A Night

It's also a gym night, so be sure to bring gym stuff, mainly shoes.

Feb. 24th: Progressive Dinner
We've got a fun evening planned for tomorrow's Progressive Dinner!
Please come on time (7:30pm) so we can get everyong into cars/vans and start at our first home on time.
We'd ask you to stay in your assigned vehicle so we make sure we move smoothly from house to house and no one gets left behind.
Pick up time is 10PM.
Lookin' nogood for Toogood - Outdoor evening cancelled
Because of the lack of snow and the expected rain, we are cancelling holding YG outside at Toogod Park on Firday the 27th.
Instead, YG will be at regular time at the chapel that evening.
